Trinidad Orisha (Orisha) is an uniquely Caribbean syncretic practice, involving specific elements of the Catholic faith. Orisha originated in Trinidad during the middle to late-19th century, created by  Africans who were brought to Trindad & enslaved to work on the plantations. The practice is also evidenced in other Caribbean islands like Grenada, Saint Vincent, Tobago and the Virgin Islands.

Trinidad Orisha incorporates elements of Spiritual Baptist. Some use the term “Shango Baptist” to refer to members of either or both religions.

This faith consider themselves to be Christians. It is an Afro-Caribbean religion that combines elements of the different traditional African religions brought by the enslaved populations combined with some Christian beliefs.
